Mens night was a BLAST!!

OK here is the much anticipated men's night update!! Sorry Mermaid for delaying this working 2 jobs is really starting to wear thin! I'm am considering taking a short leave of absence from Home depot until October because the Golf course is way more profitable for me!! =)

Men's night was a Blast!! Clouds started to roll in right around 3:00 so I was a little nervous, however no rain came with them and the SUN did end up shinning by the time it got really busy!
It was still cold but I didn't mind I was working my butt off! (sorta) The Music guys was rockin!! He made me earn my 20.00 tip though
It was just busy enough that I didn't freak one! On of the girls I work with had a little bit of an anxiety attack but she recovered quickly! I was a little surprised because she had served last summer there and always seems to be so confident!! Shes young so I guess it was just a little over whelming! She ended up with a HUGE table of dudes which would not have been easy!
My biggest table was 5 ....then I had 2 groups of 4 that joined u together!
I was smart last night and made sure I asked if they wanted separate bills or not! That seemed to make it easier!
I'm sad to report that the Hottie's where slim pickings but there was a few and the best thing about Men's night is it is EVERY Thursday ALL summer long! So although not many to pick from the ones that where there I get to see every week!! hurray!!
I LOVE MY JOB!! No pics though sorry guys! I was too busy for that.
I will try in future weeks! I did make 50 bucks in tips not bad a bad night!!!
I've never made tips before so this is all new!! Super Exciting too!!!
Its only going to get better as the season goes on!! I cant wait til its full out SUMMER!!

Tonights its all about the MEN!!

Tonight is our season kick off for our Men Night Special at the golf course!
I've had the pleasure of being transferred over to serving at the restaurant instead of counter girl! Pay per hour is a little bit less but the tips you can potentially make compensates!! I have never worked as a server before so I am super excited to be given the opportunity!! Ive had 2 shifts already in preparation for tonight's Men's Night 8 dollar jugs of draft, its gonna be a busy night!! Last night was the Ladies night Kick off it went well not as busy as they anticipated it to be but the weather was crappy yesterday and so that was kinda to be expected!
Tonight will be 1000 times better!! The sun is Shinning away, there is NO hockey!
And apparently 8 bucks a jug is a stellar price so I don't know to many men that would pass up that kind of bargain!! Specially ones who like draft!! Bonus part! Live music! Last night was awesome I was working and rockin out all night! Good times!! This job is almost to good to be true! sometimes I feel a little bit guilty getting payed! But only a little bit! I do work hard so I'm not totally guilty! Ive been a little nervous about serving just because its all new to me! I'm so happy my bosses have huge faith in me and are willing to take a risk!
Everyone told me I did Great last night!! I went home feeling very good about my job!!
I'm going to sneak my camera in and try to grab some Eye Candy Pics for my dear friend Kai!
No promises though from what Ive heard rumours that its mostly old guys that come out!
I'm praying it's just a rumour!! There are a few regular Hotties that come out to golf, and they look the kind of guys that would enjoy 8 buck jugs!!
Stayed tuned for MENS NIGHT update!!

HOLY SMOKES!!

Well Hello there!! Its been awhile I know and for that I am am deeply sorry!! Since I started working 2 weeks ago my life has gone from slow and easy to HOLY CRAP and NUTTY over night!!
Quick job up-date....Friday I worked home depot 8am-5pm I a few computer seminars to finish up, but was quickly aborted from that before even getting started which was just fine with me!!!
Instead I got to go out into the Garden Centre to unpack stock, its time to start opening!!
So I'm motoring right along unloading plastic flower planters, I'm an hour and a half into my shift when I get to a skid of poorly packed Cast Iron Urn style planters, I begin unloading them! They are heavy little suckers!!
Anyways one started to fall when I grabbed another one from the skid and me being dumb in an attempt to save the product decided to try and catch it with my one hand, it didn't quite work out as planned and instead of catching it...it caught my pinkie finger and crushed it between the urn underneath i on the skid! I had gloves on thankfully! i think they are what saved me! I immediately began to jog inside (i don't run well! its the boobs!) I went to the girls at the front cash and was like "I need some help" my finger was bleeding pretty good from the impact and it was super swollen! They rushed me to the First Aid room...the first aid dude came and checked me out, it was hard to tell if it was broken it hurt but not real bad i could wiggle it but not bend it but I think that's just because it was so swollen. Anyways he attempted to bandage me up, (they didn't really have what he needed in the room) and then I call ed my old man and had him drop me off at the hospital! I checked into Emerg, it wasn't long before the HOT doctor came to check it out, he sent me for XRays just to make sure it wasn't broken , the Xray guy was super nice, but no nearly as HOT as the doc!! WOW I wanted to ask him for his number! He had a sexy accent!! yummy!! ~~oops back to earth sorry!! Xrays came back not Broken THANK GOD!!!!
3 days later its actually not to bad! I worked all weekend and was OK....kept banging it on the pop cooler but its all good!! I was done and out of the hospital and home before noon!! I got payed for me full shift and only had to work and hour and a half not bad!! Wish I didn't have to hurt myself to do that though!! Not exactly how I wanted to be know around the Home Depot but oh well! Worse things I could be know for I guess!! Actually it was funny because prior to my injury I ran into the store Manager who took pride in telling me that every associate that has had a chance to meet me or work with me has thought I'm just wonderful and she thanked me for being so great!! I wish my significant other thought I was as wonderful as both my new employers!! Seems he's not so happy with me these days and that sucks!! When you only get a few hours together you don't want to spend them pissed at each other!!
Well guys I have million more things I could say but I worked 10-2 at Home Depot then 2-9 at the golf course I'm EXHAUSTED!!! I just don't have it in me to finish tonight! Its 11:30pm and I have to work at 8AM!! YIKES!! The black circles under my eyes keep getting larger and darker!
I'm making tons of money so I guess I'll just invest in some really good eye cream!! lol!
Any recommendations??
I made almost 20 bucks in tips so I'm going to bed with a nice big smile on my face!!

Corprate VS Non Corprate

Well I just underwent the most grueling 32 hours of training EVER!!! But that's Corporate employers for you!! AS you know from my last few post I recently took a part time position at the well know Home Depot....My first shifts where Sat & Sun 8am-5pm this is what they called orientation (most companies have these for new hires so that was all well and good) 16 hours of having policies and procedures barfed at you was a little much!! After orientation you must complete several Web based training sessions on the computer independently...My first computer shift was Monday morning at 8am (BTW i am not enjoying this 8am working thing!! i can not get to bed early enough not to be dead the next day! i tried hard all weekend!) I may have been OK had I not had to be up at 6:30 all weekend. By Monday my eyes hurt just to open them! I plowed through my computer training doing my best not to fall asleep!! That was HARD!!! I couldn't tell you exactly what I learned in my sessions but I did Ace every post test I had to do!! Yesterday was my nuttiest day so far! I was in training from 8am-1pm then I worked at the golf course from 3-9. I have concluded that Home Depot is my job and the golf course is a cool place I get to hang out and get payed!! I love it there!!
My bosses are AMAZING!! They love me already! Its so nice to be LOVED especially by the people who sign your pay check!!
My shift at the course last night rocked!! The weather was kinda questionable and that tends to slow golf business down a little! In between the odd person that did show up, I occupied my time by doing Manican Make overs!! I think its nice to change up your display once a week so that people can see your different products! My manicans looked GREAT!! The owner gave me 2 thumbs up!! It's going to be a GREAT SUMMER!!!!

DOUBLE WORKING GIRL!!

Well I have been working at the golf course for a week now and I must say I LOVE MY JOB!!
It gets crazy busy at times but I enjoy the madness for the most part.

I had an interview at the Home Depot last Friday for a part time Seasonal Department Position, The pay is not quite what I thought it would be so I wasn't too sure I wanted the job. Anyways long story short they called me in for a second interview with the store manager.... She offered me the job so I took it!!

I will now be working at the Golf Course in the evening, and the Home depot in the morning.
I don't think I will see my family until October but its all good cause I'll have tons of money for them!! HURRAY!!!

I start the Home Depot on Sat. not to keen on the steal toe shoe thing but I'll suck it up, I get to wear jeans to work and that's super cool!!
I'm hoping that come October when I'm done the golf course, Home Depot might have a full time position for me!! I'll keep you posted!

Working 60 hours a week may not leave much time for blogging but I will do my best!!

Job Update

I am hoping that no one read my post from last night! I read it tonight and it was pretty bad! I'm surprised I managed to find the spell check!! Hence why it no longer exisits!! Drunk Blogging is probibly not a good idea!
I learned a very tough life lesson last night........Vodka appears to be all friendly and smooth in the heat of the moment...turns out @ 4am it really is not your friend at all!! This is not cool when you have to be at work at 10am!! I am such a LOSER!!
Well I managed to stop rejecting the booze I consumed just in time to get ready and go to work! I spend most of the morning in the shower (its my favorite place when I'm sick!) I was ahead of the game there, just had to get dressed, throw my hair in a pony, slap an Lil make up on and presto chango I'm good to go!!
Work was NUTTY!!!! I was the only counter girl on until after 11 cause the girl at 11 was late!
Lets keep in mind here I had only worked 2 non busy training shifts so I was super nervous about being on my own! This is why getting wasted the night before maybe wasn't the best idea on my part.
I managed to survive the day with minimal mistakes!! I swear 70% of Cranbrook was out golfing today @ my golf course!! I'm back at it tomorrow for the closing shift and I can't wait!
I know that the job will only get easier the more I work! Its a lot of fun and I'm super stoked to be spending my summer there! If I have to spend my summer working anywhere I think a golf course is a pretty cool place!!
p.s: **Kai... TONS of EYE Candy today!!! I'm just sad I was so busy I couldn't enjoy it once they left my counter!!! =)

REMEMBER no matter how TEMPTING .....VODKA IS NOT YOUR FRIEND!!!

YIPEE I got a JOB!!

Job Update!! I applied for an office position a while back @ Clarica you may remember me writing about, Well I received my Sorry you didn't get the job letter,We will keep your resume on file for future blah blah blah this past Friday. I was a little sad when I opened it. Yes I cried but I knew before the letter came that I didn't get the job so I only shed a few tears! I'm not sure exactly why I cried I wasn't really sad, but the show must go on!!
Yesterday I decided to pound the pavement and find a job.
The paper here is constantly flooded with help wanted ads there definitely is no shortage of work in my little town, so I used the classified's as my map.
I Started my hunt @ Canadian Tire, they had an enormous ad hiring IMMEDIATELY!
I worked @ Crappy Tire for a short while in Ontario so I figured it would be a great place to start already am sorta familiar with things.
My visit there didn't quite go how I had envisioned it but all things happen for a reason.
I left my resume there and still have yet to hear from someone. You snooze you loose!
I carried on my search and applied at the Triple O Drive -Thru its a gas station restaurant type place not really my ideal job but if all else failed it would do! I had a mini interview on the spot with the manager so that was cool.
Not satisfied with my progress I headed out to one of the local golf courses that had an ad for Reception/Pro shop & Servers. I don't have any directly related experience but I'm a smart friendly girl I can figure it out! I met with the owner we went over my availability, what job I wanted to do, counter or server. I said I would do both Ive never been a server but I'm willing to learn!! She said she had to figure some scheduling stuff out and and that she'd be in touch.

On the way back in to town I stopped at Home Depot I wasn't sure if they where hiring or not but I figured it wouldn't hurt to put in a resume just in case!

And then almost right beside Home Depot is a little Plaza with Walmart, Payless, and the NEWEST edition to the gang our very own LA SENZA (if your female I'm sure your very familiar with this store!!! Its one of my Favorites next to Wally!) I had heard rumour that we would be getting one but I had no idea that it was here & open already!! I stopped in to see if they where hiring and of course they where! I filled out an application on the spot.

Let me tell you after all that running around being friendly, I was EXHAUSTED!!!
Just looking for a job is hard work!! I figured 5 resumes out was a good start so I went home and had a nap with my daughter on the couch!

Well ALL that HARD work payed off. This morning once I figured out the ringer was turned off on the phone the call backs began flooding in!! Thankfully I had only missed one call it was from the Home Depot!
***Note to self in the future when looking for a job make sure your phone is on so you can hear it to answer the calls when they come in!!

I played telephone tag with the Home Depot Human resources lady all day.

In the mean time I received calls from the Golf Course and La Senza and set up interviews for this afternoon.

The Golf course was first, Its full time Seasonal but its all good gives me all summer to find a good full time winter job!! I had my interview and the lady offered me the job right there on the spot I couldn't say NO!! So I am now a counter girl @ Mission Hills Golf Course!! Whoohoo!! I'm soo excited. I start tomorrow!! I will be trained as a server as well just so I can fill in when needed I like to know more than one job at a time makes you more valuable as an employee!!

Next was La Senza, my interview went awesome! I owned it! She loved me! It only pays 8.50/hr though and that's a little less then I was hoping to make plus its only part time:(

She called me back tonight and left a message (oops the ringer was off on the phone again! gotta stop doing that!) I got the job and she wants me to start tomorrow @ 11:00... super hard to do when I start @ the golf course tomorrow @ 10:00. I get the pleasure of phoning in the morning and regretfully declining the position. (I hate that kinda stuff!!)

After my interview at La Senza I tried calling the Home Depot lady again, after holding for way to long I finally got through and was able to speak to her!! She wanted to know if I would be interested in a job in their Seasonal Department. AS in the garden centre and selling lawn mowers ect. I told her YES I would LOVE a job in the Seasonal department so I have an interview there on Friday @ 12:30. Sweet! Its only part time but could lead to full time say around maybe October when my other one closes for the season?? lol
We will see what they are offering on Friday when I go. I hear they are paying wicked wages!

I also got a call from the Triple O manager saying he wanted to hire me. I had to tell him I got work somewhere else! that sucked!

HOLY SMOKES!!! I had 3 job offers in 1 day plus another interview on Friday!
I'm overwhelmed!! I just hope I took the right one!! I'm sure I did, of all the places it was the best suited for me!! Its only seasonal but its a place you can go back to season after season!
My sugar daddy will LOVE it as he LOVES to golf!! I'm excited because I like to golf as well but I'm not very good and my man does not have the patience to teach me!! He is also left handed and I'm right so it makes it kinda challenging for him. We have golfed together a few times well attempted to anyways years ago. I remember the last time @ around the 3rd hole swearing at him and making him promise never to take me golfing again!! That was a long time ago I have grown up a lot since then.I am looking forward to the opportunity to learn how to properly play this nice relaxing sport!! I'm also hoping to kiss ass with the golf pro there and score some free golf lessons!!=)

La Senza sounded fun with the 25% discount and all, right up until I found out I would have to do Bra Fittings on woman, 8.50/hr is NOT enough money to have to fit woman for Bras!!! Unless your a man then they would probably work for free!!
I don't know that as a customer I would be all to comfortable with a woman fitting me for a bra. I obviously have never had such a thing done before. Maybe as a company they should consider training up some Hunky MALE Bra fitters!! Betcha sales jump through the roof!!!
Every lonely lady for a thousand miles would come for her free feel I mean bra fitting!! lol

Life Lesson's learned this week......

If at first you dont succeed Try Try again!!
When applying for employment in a customer service based field it pays to be peppy!
(its probibly the only time it wont get you beat up!)
Determination is a great motivator!

Life Question of the week!

** If I can get 3 jobs in 1 day why are so many able bodied Canadians sitting at home collecting welfare?? And why does our Government continue to allow them to sponge off the system and live off our hard earned tax dollars??

HURRAY...NEW WHEELS!!!

So our old car finally had enough, I think the drive from Hamilton Ontario to Cranbrook B.C last summer combined with the multiple trips up and down Panorama Mountain very day for 2 months put a huge strain on it, after all it was only a little golf cart with doors!! lol no It was a Hyundai Accent and all and all I can't really complain to much about it!! Anything is better than walking!
WE are now the PROUD owners of this SWEET little mini van!! Its no BMW but til the kids are teenagers it will do!! Its nice just to have a car that can go past the corner store!! WHOOHOO!!
I AM IN LOVE WITH DRIVING NOW!! I cant stand to sit at home anymore I just want to be our CRUISING!! It can hold 8 people so there is plenty of room for the 4 of us!!
Camping this summer is definitely on for this summer and I cant wait!! The vans big enough worse case I can fold the seats down and snooze in the back!! That's handy if you ever accidentally drink too much out @ the bar one night! Just have a little snoozaroo in the back til your sober enough to drive!!
ARRIVE ALIVE!! DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!!!

R.I.P in peace my little golf cart with doors! You served your purpose well!!
These B.C mountains have been hard on you I know but you sure toughed it out!! I cant say you'll be missed but we had some good times Ill always remember!! =)

Can you say YUMMY!!??

So I recently was informed after visiting The Buzz Queen that M&M's have their very own website...http://m-ms.com who would have thought!!! I sure didn't! TOO COOL!!! I have been an M&M addict since I was old enough to eat chocolate!( thanks mom) My mom is a CHOCOLATE ADDICT! Anyways M&M's melt in your mouth not in your hand so they are perfect for kids!

I was thrilled at all the cool things I discovered while browsing the site! Immediately upon entering I found out you can order personalized M&M's .....Perfect for a WEDDING, BIRTHDAY, ANNIVERSARY....etc!! I will definitely be ordering some of these for our "10 yr PARTY/Anniversary/Wedding" next summer!

I also found this recipe for a yummy party snack I just had to share!!! I cant wait to try it!!

In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix thoroughly.Fill a favorite antique container—such as a wooden bowl, old spice tin or old canning jar—with the mix. Set the container out. Be sure to make plenty—it could disappear quickly!

my visual DNA

I couldnt resist any longer I had to go check out my Visual DNA!! I saw it on the Buzz Queen's post a while ago and finally decided today to go check it out!! It was a lot fo fun!!

Check out your VISUAL DNA ....See how yours looks!!

BE YOUNG!! HAVE FUN!!

I almost DIED!!!

So from my Wordless Wednesday post last week you learned that my little princess LOVES to play with make-up well the other day she managed to talk her brother into giving her a little make-up Tattoo on her back guess she decided she needed a butterfly!!

The eye shadow they used was this creamy stuff instead of powder, anyways HUGE MESS!!!

Ended up all over my nice white door and her bedroom wall! Thank god for a big strong dad and some good dish soap, scrubbed it right off!! Her on the other hand HOLY SMOKES was it hard to get off her! We have decided from now on if the princess wants a tattoo she needs to ASK and we will ponder a nice rub on one instead!! And as for her brother he is going to stick to art work on paper instead of bodies!!

When she first came out into the living room it took every ounce of self control I have not to die on the floor laughing!! Just the way she came out was way TOO FUNNY!!!
Aren't kids FANTASTIC!!

HURRAY 4 SPRING!!

YES I'm still alive!! No the Jello didn't not turn out to be fatal in fact it was quite FANTASTIC!! Sorry I have been M.I.A. I've been playing some hard core poker this past week and its been PAYING off!! No BIG huge prizes yet but I'm working on it! My "Sugar Daddy" loaned my 5 bucks on my online poker account, I took that 5 dollars played in 4- 1.25 SNG tournaments and ended up being able to pay back my 5.00 loan and still have 17.00 in my account!! SWEET!! I've managed to play for the week and as of tonight my bankroll is 22.00 all in all it's been a GREAT Week for POKER for ME!!!
My children have decided that they would rather play outside than do crafts! Well my daughter anyways and my son is forced against his will most of the time to join her outside because he's older and she can't be out alone!! Sorry "Buddy" (my princess nicknamed him that!)
I tell him when he was 3 I had to do all kinds of things with him I didn't want to but I still did, now its his turn!! lol! There is a 4 year age difference and most of the time they get along GREAT but on occasion the age gap becomes quite apparent!

Today was CHILLY out!! I am less than thrilled by the UN SPRING like weather we have been stricken with this past week!! I made the kids stay in for most of the day Today, as their recent love for the frigid outdoors has left them with mild spring colds!

To fill some time I decided we would try to make a neat craft I found online, using coffee filters and water colour paint !! Who doesn't have coffee filters kicking around the house?! Well I don't because my coffee maker doesn't use them but that's a whole other post=)

Now that it is officially SPRING!! I am anxiously waiting for flowers to start blooming!! That's the best part of spring!! All the new pretty flowers! Since its still a bit early to see them outside I figured we can make our own for inside!!

This craft was by far the EASIEST And FUNNEST craft I have ever done!!! It was PERFECTLY KID FRIENDLY even my lil princess did great with this one!!

The final product turned out absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! I took a bouquet over to a girlfriend's house, I loved them some much I had to share!! After all the best part of Crafting is Sharing!!

OK here's how to do it! Well my version anyways! lol

What you need....
White round coffee filters
Water Colour Paint (the more colours the more fun!) It has to be WATER paint! Food colouring and water could work as well.
Markers
Water
Paint Brush
Sparkles (add to paint)
Pipe Cleaner/Popsicle stick, straw
Tape (green or clear tape would be best

TIME TO GET 2 WORK!!

1.) LAY OUT NEWSPAPER!! LOTS OF LAYER AS IT GETS WET!! Have some extra off to the side to replace overly wet sheets
2.) Fill plastic containers with water
3.) Add sparkles to paint if desired
4.) Paint coffee filter making sure to use lots of water, Be CREATIVE, you can make patterns whatever you like!
5.) Let DRY!! (It actually dries WAY faster than I expected! You could be speed up with blow drier if your really impatient, I didn't so many of them that by the time I was done painting the first one's I did where dry!)
6.) Pinch and twist center of filter to form Flower (You could put several filters on top of each other to form a multi layer flower! These are especially pretty!!
7.) Wrap Pipe Cleaner or Tape Stick to Flower!!

VOILA!! Insta Garden only need to water once!! :)
Now that you've made your flowers you have all kinds of options as far as what to do with them!

I wanted to share some of mine but I didn't really have a vase or anything that I could use @ home to put them in, Being inventive I grabbed some Play-Doh out of the closet ,made a ball, stabbed the sticks in and there you go perfect flower pot!! Well my G*friend loved her bouquet!! She thinks I'm sooo crafty, its funny! I took some pictures they are not the best I apologize!! But its better than having to stretch the imagination!!

You could add some scented oil to the water if you wanted to make your flowers smell as pretty as they look. I'm going to try this out tomorrow!! I ran out of paint today, but I have food colouring in the cupboard so I'm going to give this a try using the dye instead of the paint!! Should be FUN!!

Looking for something to brighten up the place ?? Guys want to impress your GIRL?? Give this a try! It is quick and easy and these flowers are SUPER LOW Maintenance , Best of all they can LAST FOREVER!!

My son had actually made me some for Mother's Day in Kindergaren, His teacher bought little mini clay pots for each of the kids to put their little flowers in, It was really nice!!

HAPPY SPRING!!!

FRISKY FRIDAY!!!

Its FINALLY here!! I've been patiently waiting all week for FRIDAY and now its here!! HURRAY!! Tonight the Family will be going to cheer on our local hockey team the KOOTENAY ICE!! GO ICE GO!! A very good friend of ours daughter got free tickets from school for being a good girl on the playground!!(way to go H-P)They are all ready going to the game so they didn't need the free ones so she was kind enough to share with us!!! WE are all very excited!! My hubby mostly! Hes a HUGE hockey fan and loves every chance he gets to go support his local boys!!
The hockey game will be followed with the best part of the evening! GIRLZ NIGHT OUT!! with my Woodland LOVELY"S!! The kiddies will go home to bed with the hubby and I will continue the evening with some tasty cocktails followed by some much loved DANCING!! I Cant wait!!
In honor of ST.PATRICKS day tomorrow I decided to kick our evening out off with some pretty green JELLO SHOOTERS!!! This is my favorite way to kick off an evening out!!

I've decided to be kind to my dear friends this time and only made a half batch!
The recipe is quite simply! Just the way I like recipes to be!!

Choose your favorite flavour of JELLO! (For St. Patti's I picked up some FRUIT FIESTA Jello it's delicious and green! PERFECT!)
Boil your 1 cup of WATER, Pour into bowl with Jello powder, Stir til Dissolved
Add 1/2 COLD WATER
& 1/2 Vodka (rum could work as well I prefer vodka)

Pour into Shooter cups (I get mine from the dollar store, they are plastic and work GREAT!)
Refrigerate until PARTY TIME!!
Allow at least 2 hours to set!

My husband being the very intelligent man that he is has informed this morning that the farther in advance you make the jello shooters the more lethal they become! I received a brief science lesson from my beloved explaining that when the sugar is mixed with the hot water and alcohol it begins to ferment making more alcohol! Its not recommended that you make them to far in advance as you may harm your consumers accidentally! Alcohol poisoning is not fun from what I hear!!

Well this should be a GREAT NIGHT!! I''ll let you know how the Jello was! I'll try and get some pic's!!=) they are always fun to share the next day!!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK's DAY!!

May the luck of the Irish be with You!!

And now I WAIT!!!

I SURVIVED!!! So I had my interview this morning! It went well! I had dreamed that they fell instantly in love with me and hire me on the spot! (well without dreams what have u got??)
They are running the AD again on Friday, interviewing next week and then they will make their decision and inform candidates accordingly! Now I am forced to sit and wait for the next week and a half or so, replaying the interview over and over in my head, questioning "if I had answered this question differently or at all!!!" I hate waiting for things, even more than that I hate waiting for things that I want really badly!!
Guess all I can do is hope that they saw me for the great person that I am and feel I will be the best fit for the position!! (BECAUSE I SOOO WOULD BE!!)

Here's my next dilemma do I wait to hear back from them before I go search for plan B? or do I just go out and find plan B while I wait??

For now I'll wait I'm exhausted after all that stressing, in the end I spent about 5 hours on my cover letter and resume 12 hours stressing & all for a 10 minute interview!! NICE!!
I NEED A NAP!!!

Job Update...

I DID IT!!! I got dressed today and dropped off my resume, The girl that greeted me at the door immediately took me into her very messy office(they are reorganizing apparently) and set up an interview for @ 10am tomorrow morning. I am so excited I feel like the kids Christmas eve!! I doubt I'll be able to sleep tonight! However for every ounce of excitement is 2 more ounces of complete and under fear!! I was shaking like leaf just dropping my resume off, I can only imagine what I will be like when I have 2 people starring at me and asking me all kinds of ridiculous questions! How I respond to these said questions will make or break my future career with this company!
I have concluded I have terrible nerves and should probably seek professional help about this condition.
I think I'll go Google Interview preparation and go do some reading! Its been a couple years since my last interview so I want to be fresh!
My foots already through the door now I just need the rest of my body to get in!!
I'll just be my charming self and they'll be sure to love me!! =)

I'll keep you posted!

I need a JOB!!

OK so I have been procrastinating for quite some time now on finding a job. I haven't been real eager to sport the lovely khaki coloured uniform @ Timmy's )by that I mean Tim Horton's the coffee shop )or even worse the dread McD's (no been there did that already when I was like 14 don't need to relive that again). I did not go to college or university for a career so I'm not really "QUALIFIED" to do anything special! I've been a full time Mama first and for most , going on 8 years now and while I've worked part time for all 8 of those,I finally decided it's time to hang up that hat and try something new

I worked @ H&R Block (u know the income tax guys!) It did that for 7 years, I enjoyed it but mostly because of the people I got to work with and the fact that it was seasonal! By the time I hated working, tax season was over! I have taken their income tax courses and I prepared taxes for 4years. It was the kind of job you loved to hate!! I loved all the different people I got to meet at work, but who likes TAXES!! Most people hated you as soon as they sat down at your desk just because you where going to be the person that got to inform them they now had to pay CANADA REVENUE AGENCY thousands of dollars after already paying taxes each week all year long. Who would want that job.
It did have its flip side however you would get the people who LOVED you because you where the one who informed them CRA was going to be sending them a cheque for thousands of dollars!! Last tax season was my last and I gracefully ended my career as an assistant office manager! Good place to leave off I think!

That leads me to now! I need a job! We have been trying to get by on hubby's income alone and while it is a good income its self employed income so sometimes its inconsistent! Our line of work is very dependent on good weather as well so sometimes winter can be a little rough!

Ive been procrastinating because I hadn't really seen any jobs I really excited me! Until Friday when the paper came! I've had my eye on this add in there for a hotel in town that's hiring I figured if I had to do anything like that a hotel would be FUN!! To my dismay turns out I waited too long because the job is no longer in the paper! However in its place was a job I a have fallen absolutely in love with and I haven't even been hired or interviewed yet! Its all I can think about since I read it!! I read over the ad and it just SCREAMED... HIRE ME!!
Its office work but I like office work! I just don't like doing taxes!! lol I'm far to opinionated to be in that line of work it was going to get me into trouble eventually! DAM thieving Government!!

Coincidentally enough my husband did the stone work on the man's house who is doing the hiring so that may just give me the extra advantage I need to score this absolutely dreamy job!
I worked on my cover letter to attach to my resume for HOURS tonight trying to make it just right! I have always said that your cover letter is your marketing tool the product being yourself!
You need to sell yourself in that cover letter so the potential employer so the employer realizes you are the perfect eprson for the job! MY problem is Im terrible @ selling myself!!
Which leads me to the next reason for my procrastination. I am absolutely DREADing having to be interviewed for a job! I shutter just at the thought!
I'm a great person and a super employee but interviews make soo incredibly nervous it's sickening! My vision goes all blurry and my whole body shakes & I normally end up laughing uncontrollably! Not normally a good first impression!
I want this job so badly though I will make sure I do NOTHING to mess up my chances!
If I didn't care I would not have edited my cover letter a million times! I'm still not sure its good maybe I can get some of your friendly advise

Here's the one I wanted to send!!

Dear Potential Employer;
I saw your job posting in the paper and its all I've been able to think about since!
I think I would be absolutly perfect for this position!! Please just hire me and you wont be sorry! I promise!!
Sincerly yours
Despretly wants job!

ok ok I know that 's not going to get me hired so I continued to work on it and this is what I came up with!
Let me know ...Would you hire me???

Dear Potential Employer
I would like to apply for the position you have available for a Financial Centre Administrator.
My 7 years of office experience has left me with a multitude of skills and I feel that such skills along with my eagerness and ambition to learn and grow within an organization would make me a positive addition to your company.
I am a productive independent worker and an enthusiastic team player.
My upbeat and energetic personality make me easy to get along with and pleasant to be around.
Previous work experience has taught me how to be quick and effective at

multi-tasking in an organized and efficient manner.
I have also gained leadership qualities, computer proficiency, and great communication and problem solving skills.
I am dedicated, dependable and strive for excellence in all that I do.
I look forward to the opportunity to discuss my qualifications for this position in more depth and thank you in advance for your consideration for employment.

Sincerely,
Courtnie Brown

I go tomorrow morning to drop of my resume and interviews are being held Tuesday and Wednesday, The ad says only candidates selected for interview will be contacted so I figure I should know by Wed at the latest!!

Wish me LUCK!! I need all the help I can get!!

March Break Craft Kick Off!

It is officially the start of MARCH BREAK!! While I wish I could spend my 2 weeks sunning myself on the sandy beach of a tropical island and enjoying a nice cool refreshing Margarita or maybe I'll bring along the Buzz Queen to whip up some of that yummy looking Sangria she posted the other day! MMMM!=) OK OK back to reality here I could actually almost feel the sun on me for a minute there!

Instead of tanning, the kids and I will be CRAFTING, CRAFTING did I mention that we will be CRAFTING?? I have been promising my son (who loves to do crafts) for weeks now that over the break we will do TONS of CRAFTS!! Of course I'll share each and everyone with you here!=) So keep visiting for tons of fun crafts you 2 can do with your kiddies!

I thought I'd kick it off with a real FUN one my son did at school this year. He's in grade 2 and has done some pretty neat stuff this year! The teacher was kind enough to send home step by step instructions on how to do this one @ home.
HAVE FUN!!

BOUNCY BALLS!

Things you need:
1/8 or 1/4 cup of GLUE (sparkly GLUE works GREAT!)
1 Teaspoon of BORAX SOAP
1/4 cup of WATER

How to make it:
1.) Pour GLUE onto a plate
2.) Add SPARKLES if your using white glue
3.) Mix BORAX & WATER
4.) Slowly add small amount of BORAX/WATER solution to the GLUE while stirring (Popsicles are good fingers work too.)
5.) Once GLUE is FIR, pick it up ad begin rolling it between your hands to form a BALL!
6.) Spend ENDLESS hours ENJOYING your new BOUNCY BALL!!

FUN TIMES!!

So the best part of the blogosphere is all the wonderful people you get to meet from around the world! I haven't had a chance to meet many people online yet but I'm working on my networking! A great site to visit is MermaidandPhotographer,(see link under Places I stop by on side bar) She is Fun, Witty and Super Nice! She has made me feel right at home here in bloggerland!
One of my favorite things about visiting, is her interactiveness with her readers. She likes to have fun games, Ex boyfriends list stuff like that! I enjoyed her ex boyfriend game so much I popped by for a visit today to see what was next! and here it was... In honor of National Woman's Day (which I did not know was today or that even such a day existed! Learn something new everyday!!)
***Mermaid writes.....Girls, when you leave a comment on this post, I will reply with these 5 things about you:
1. I will tell you what song makes me think of you.
2. I will tell you what tattoo I think would suit you.
3. I will tell you my first opinion of you.
4. I will tell you the color or flavor of jello that I'd wrestle you in.
5. I will give you a nickname.
Court - Your turn (you're right we just met, so let's see how this goes)
1. WINNIE THE POOH theme song (just look at your display picture)
2. I would love to see a little bee on you, just above on your right shoulder blade, I think you could pull it off ;-)
3. Funny enough I expected it to be like Martha Stewart type content on your blog...ie cooking recipes.
4. We'll be wrestling in honey. Sticky but sweet.
5. Wendy (from Peter pan) - I love the little fairy pic on your blog, it somehow made me think of Neverland...so that's where I got Wendy from.
WOW Mermaid for someone who doesn't know me well you sure did great!
Here's my responses to your responses!
1. I guess there are worse songs that could remind you of me! (I think Im going to change my display pic now though;) Winnie the Pooh is my favorite Disney series, Eeyore Is my Favorite character. He's so glum you cant help but love him!
2. Never really thought about a bee, I do have a tattoo on my right shoulder blade:) its a purple sun! I also have a half moon on my left shoulder blade!
I LOVE TATTOOS!! I have 3 and will be going for lucky 4 soon! My lil bro is working on a pic for me!! Hurray! I going for an Monkey Angel with a devils tail! Ill explain in another post!=)
3. I was hoping to go for a Martha Stewarty feel only better! I am a very crafty person and jokingly a few times I have referred to myself as a Cuter version of Martha! I thought it would make for a fun blog name:) Stay tuned for some Martha type content! I doubt I'll play much with recipes,(although I do love to cook and bake) I think I'll leave the yummy recipes for the Buzz Queen shes so awesome at it!!
4. MMMMM Honey, thought we where doing jello but I like honey doesn't sound as cold & squishy!
5. Wendy funny that, that's the name you choose! I once dyed my hair this wicked red colour in 8th grade, I had dirty blonde hair when I dyed it so I'm sure you can imagine what kinda red it turned out to be! Anyways my dad said that I looked like WENDY as in the burger joint WENDY! Thank god the dye was the kind that that washes out in 6 washes! I washed my hair like 6 times in one shower! I did not want to be the new spokes model for the Junior Bacon Cheeseburger! I like the Neverland Wendy though she was cool! She got to fly and live in Neverland and had a chance at eternal youth!! Sounds good to me!!=)
Thanks for the FUN post Mermaid!! Can't wait to see whats up next!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!

Poker Humor

I should be SLEEPING!!

Well I went and played poker after writing my last post ...After several failed attempts I decided put that on hold for tonight and go play with my hubby for a bit instead! Now it's 1:55AM and I know I should be in bed sleeping but I prefer to torture myself (mostly my eye's as they struggle to stay focused on the screen!) My lack of sleep over the last few months are slowly taking there toll! I really should invest in some good eye cream to help aid the rapidly growing bags under my eyes!! I am going to start charging them rent soon!
I have no one to blame but myself its not like anyone ties me to the computer til all hours of the night or should I say early morning! I've always been a night person being a kid sucked having to go to bed when normal people did!! I swear I was a Vampire in another life or maybe an Owl I was definitely nocturnal! All this would be well and good if I did not have children that required me to get out of bed in a few short hours!! I'm still fairly young so I can normally go on long bouts of insomnia without to many side effects! I'm sure my lack of ZZZ's is a direct link to my rapid mood swings and just general crankiness lately!
I don't mean to be a B****! I just AM!! I've been tormenting myself with sleeplessness since I got pregnant with my son 8 years ago its just become routine. Night time is MY time!! All day I am a MOM, I am a very strong willed 3 year old's mom (the 7 yr old is at school all day! I love school!!) and this 3 year old is a great one but lately she sure is testing the water! That too could be a direct link to my general crankiness or a direct result of my crankiness either way at some point in the day shes becomes not very fun!! She may look cute but she's a devil in disguise!

My favorite time of day is when I tuck both my babies into their beds, kiss them good night and tell them I love them!

My second favorite part of the night is when they are fast asleep in their beds and quiet as church mice!! Now I can sit and be ME!! I don't have to fetch anything for anyone or clean up anything! I can sit on the computer and actually pay attention to what I'm doing! Most nights I spend editing post I tried to start earlier in the day that I don't dare publish until I've had a chance to sit and reread them coherently!

My only problem is that I enjoy this time so much I don't want it to end which leads to me staying up until early morning playing online POKER & BLOGGING!!

What time do you go to bed?? What time to you wake up?? Do you feel the sleep you get is enough to function & contribute to society effectively??
My father in law always says...
" You have all the time in the world to SLEEP when your Dead!!"
On that note my eyes really do hurt so I'm going to pretend I'm buried 6 feet under & I'm going to go dream about SUNSHINE & FLIP FLOPS for tomorrow!!
Don't let the bed bugs bite!
If this makes absolutly NO SENSE when reading its because I wrote it when
I SHOULD BE SLEEPING!!=)

Poker Madness!!

My hubby and I are pretty avid online poker players , that's putting it mildly we don't have cable so Poker fills in the time. My hubby is an extremely good player, he has won a bit of $$ playing in tourney's. That's how we payed for his trip from Ontario to B.C! Myself on the other hand I'm not a terrible player but I don't see my name reserved on any World Series of Poker Chairs as of yet! I am working on that though! I sit and watch him a lot and when I do play I try to play as tight as possible and reserve my chips for only premium hands! Ive won little prize amounts but nothing significant definitely not as much as him! Today I played in a freeroll which is a no entry fee tourney that pays real money! I normally don't like playing poker when the kids are still awake, I find it very hard to focus on the game, way to much going on all at once my brain tends to over load!

Today my hubby had asked me to play in this tourney hosted by a Poker Forum he belongs to called Railbirds. Members of railbirds are everyday people who all share a love for the game of Poker! 98% of them are excellent poker players who take the game quite seriously! At http://www.railbirds.com/ you can chat with other players, Blog poker tips or just plain rant about the donkey who called your Ace Ace with 3,4 off suit and won! Its all poker all the time! They also host private daily freerolls for members only! That's what I played in today!
I did surprisingly well, I even shocked myself! I really surprised my hubby when he came home from work to find me still playing with a nice sized stack! After 2.5 hours of playing only the PREMO hands, I went ALL IN with pocket Queens. I gracefully placed 20th (out of 600) and won $1.20, not a bad return for a free game! If I had to get beat out holding anything I was glad it was with my ladies:)
Everything I've learnt about online poker I've learned from my hubby! However our style of playing couldn't be more different! Everyone has their own style and that couldn't be more true for the 2 of us! Poker for him is all about Math and Strategy, very heady! If you ask me Poker is 30% brains, 20% FUN & 50% bullshit LUCK! If luck wasn't involved it wouldn't be gambling! And if it wasn't FUN no one would want to play, You don't need much brains to play the game,
You do however require some brains in order to successful and win big money!
I don't think about the cards other people are holding, I simply wait for my premo hands (AA, AK, QQ ) BET them accordingly & hope for the BEST! (Brains,Fun, Luck)
This is probably why I'm not sporting a beautiful W.S.O.P bracelet but my game will only improve the more I play so I'm not giving up on that dream just yet instead I'll take my free $1.20 and see how much $$ I can turn it into!

One of the sites we play on is offering series freeroll events eventually leading to Paid Seats into the World Series of Pokers Main Event which has INCREDIBLY prize payouts!
Any one can buy a seat into the W.S.O.P but it'll cost ya!! $10,ooo.oo to be exact!!
I think I'll keep trying @ the freerolls or see how much my $1.20 turns into.
The freerolls go off every 5 mins so you have lots of opportunity!
Ill get lucky one of these days and actually win one! Im gonna go try Round 1 right now!
Wish me luck!

I'll keep you posted on my progress to becoming the next Worlds Greatest FEMALE Poker Player! & my Quest for my very own W.S.O.P bracelet.

5 REASONS TO PLAY GOLF!!

I think that says it ALL!!! =)
